Her dedication to this specialized practice makes her a sought-after professional in Denver for those looking to achieve lasting change through purposeful and effective bodywork.

What is ATSI?

Anatomy Trains Structural integration is a form of Structural Integration designed to address the root causes of physical discomfort by working with the body’s myofascial system through a structured series of sessions. Unlike symptom-focused treatments, ATSI is system-oriented, aiming to restore balance, support, and long-term resilience in the body. The work is based on the Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians, offering a logical map to guide each session. ATSI engages the client actively in the process, involving movement during manual therapy and encouraging open communication about physical and emotional responses to the work.

Rather than imposing intensity or “pushing through pain,” ATSI sessions are collaborative and responsive, with touch applied gently and sensitively. This process helps the body integrate changes more effectively and empowers clients to build a more sustainable structure for movement and posture. ATSI also integrates well with other therapies such as chiropractic care, osteopathy, massage, yoga, and more. The ultimate goal is client autonomy—to complete a meaningful series of sessions that promote lasting change, without fostering long-term dependency on continued treatment.

What to Expect

Ali Walkup’s ATSI is a unique, structured approach to bodywork designed to realign and balance your posture and movement patterns over a series of sessions. While you’re welcome to book a single 1.5-hour session to explore the work, the most effective and lasting results are achieved through the full 12-session KMI (Kinesis Myofascial Integration) series. This structured process gradually works through the entire body—starting with superficial layers, moving deeper, and finally integrating everything for full-body alignment.

Each session begins with a postural and movement assessment, allowing the practitioner to tailor the approach to your specific needs. Work is performed on a treatment table, stool, or standing, with clients typically wearing minimal clothing (such as underwear or a bathing suit) to allow precise tissue engagement. Unlike passive massage, you’ll be actively involved—responding to touch, adjusting movements, and helping to release restrictive patterns.

In-Take & First Session

During your first visit, Ali will conduct a detailed intake to understand your health history, daily habits, and physical concerns. You’ll be assessed standing and walking, and in some cases, before-and-after photos may be taken to help track your progress. Sessions are typically performed in minimal clothing (underwear or a bathing suit) without draping, and most of the work takes place on a massage table, stool, or bench.

Collaborative and Communicative

Each session focuses on a specific myofascial region of the body, using gentle but effective manual techniques. You’ll be actively involved—moving, stretching, and breathing in coordination with the work—to help the tissues release and integrate more effectively. The sensations can range from deep stretching to short bursts of intensity, but your comfort is always a priority. Communication is encouraged throughout every session to ensure the depth and pace are right for you.

Is ATSI right for me?

Please note that ATSI is not intended for acute injuries or inflammatory conditions. It’s best suited for people with long-standing structural pain patterns, postural imbalances, or those looking to enhance body awareness and movement efficiency. Always consult your physician if you’re unsure whether this work is appropriate for you.

ATSI is a short-term series with long-term benefits. Once completed, many clients maintain their progress with movement practices like yoga, Pilates, or periodic tune-up sessions. Ali is here to support you through the process and help you build a foundation for lasting change.

How It Works

Structural Integration is a progressive, results-driven process that typically unfolds over 12 sessions, though the exact number may vary based on individual needs. Each session builds upon the last, addressing different layers of the body:

  • Sessions 1–4: Focus on freeing superficial restrictions in the front, back, and sides of the body, including the shoulders and arms.
  • Sessions 5–8: Work deeper into the core, targeting muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis.
  • Sessions 9–12: Integrate the core and outer layers, refining movement patterns for lasting postural change.
